Which smartwatch should I get?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy a smartwatch soon and after some research and considering my budget, I’ve narrowed it down to two choices:

  • OnePlus Watch 2R
  • Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro

Which one would you recommend? I’m not too concerned about battery life, 24 hours works for me, but I’m focusing more on the price versus features like sensors, system integration, etc. Oh, and I currently have a Redmi Note 13 Pro+.

I’m also interested in this, though I’m mostly deciding between the OnePlus Watch 2R and the Amazfit Balance. My main concerns are step accuracy, GPS, and finding something lighter to wear while sleeping and always have on me (that rules out the OnePlus 2, since I’ve heard it’s pretty heavy with the stainless steel). It’ll be my first smartwatch since I used to have a Xiaomi band, so I’m not sure what to expect from the features.

The Xiaomi has a better processor. The OnePlus has a dual processor, but it only works with their 100 watch faces. If you try to use other watch faces from the Play Store, the dual processor won’t work anymore.

Also, both have that black circle around the watch face. It’s like the annoying dot for the selfie camera on phone screens—unnecessary and ugly. No one likes it, and they don’t bother hiding it.

Neither is military grade, so they can’t handle sudden temperature changes, not that most people need that. But if you want peace of mind, maybe go for something better. You can’t really swim in them or stay out in heavy rain without worrying.

Also, the Xiaomi comes with a toxic band. Some recent studies say the fluro-rubber bands in higher-end smartwatches have harmful chemicals that get into our blood. Most of us replace them anyway, but it’s good to know. I personally replace mine with leather or metal bands.

I highly recommend the Mobvoi Atlas Silver. Even though it comes with a toxic band too, like many flagship smartwatches this year, just swap it out when you get it. The Atlas looks really good with a light brown alligator leather band.

It has the same powerful processor as the Xiaomi and 32GB of space with 2GB of RAM, just like those two. It also has a dual processor to run its dual-screen feature, and unlike the OnePlus, it works with all the Play Store watch faces.

The Atlas is the king when it comes to long battery life in Wear OS watches. It has the largest battery, and the dual-screen feature helps it last a lot longer. I honestly haven’t had to charge mine much—I only do it when I feel like it or need a break. It’s less stressful having the Atlas on your wrist.

It doesn’t have the huge black circle either. It’s really thin and barely noticeable. The Sapphire Crystal glass makes it scratchproof, and it adds to the overall tough, masculine look of the watch.

In my opinion, the Atlas doesn’t just beat other Wear OS watches—it can even compete with Garmins. If you were lost in the Amazon jungle, you’d want the Atlas on your wrist, not a Xiaomi or OnePlus or Pixel or Samsung.

The ‘black circle’ is actually a bezel, and I find it pretty useful to keep the watch looking more like a traditional watch.
For the military-grade dust and water resistance, I don’t need that. 5 ATM resistance is good enough for me.
I’ll check out the Ticwatch Atlas anyway, but I’m not that interested in it, to be honest.

I’m a watch guy, so bands aren’t an issue for me, haha. I’ve got plenty of different sizes.
