Hi there! So, I’m about to get my first smartwatch and I’m torn between the Garmin Vivoactive 5 and the Venu 2S or 3S. I want one that looks good with my everyday style (I have a small wrist, so not too bulky) and tracks my activity. I’m going to use it for weight lifting, running, and swimming, and occasionally for other activities, though they’re not as important. Some key features I need are the ability to listen to music without my phone, track my sleep, and monitor my energy, pulse, and stress levels throughout the day.
I’ve done some research online, but the reviews are all over the place. If anyone has experience with these watches or can suggest a different one, I’d really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

What other activities do you do, and how often? It could make a difference in which one is best for you. Do you need a mic or speaker on it?
Hi, thanks for replying!
Other activities I might do are hiking or cycling in the summer, but they’re just for fun. The main goal of the watch is to track my running, swimming, and fitness progress. I run 3 times a week, go to the gym 3 times, and swim 1-2 times a week.
I also want the watch to help with my overall cardio/strength training as I’m training to join the police. I need something that can improve my performance and track my progress. The sleep analysis feature would help me recover better, and a stress level detector would be great for knowing when to take a break.
A mic isn’t necessary, but a speaker could be useful if it gives me info like my pace or when to start/stop. That’s not a priority though.
I’ve only had my Vivoactive 5 for a few days, so it’s still early to say, but so far, it’s been solid. I was also choosing between the VA5 and the Venu 3, but I decided the extra features and sensors in the Venu 3 weren’t worth the higher price. The VA5 gives me everything I need.
Both watches are great, so think about whether you’d benefit from the extra sensors and if they’re worth the extra money for you.
