I’m in the market for a smartwatch and my budget is around 400 euros. I’m looking for something that can do a bit of everything like fitness tracking and phone notifications. I currently use a Samsung phone, so compatibility is key. I’d love for the battery life to last over 24 hours. Appreciate any help you can provide!
Almost any smartwatch besides an Apple Watch (which only works with iPhones) should fit your needs.
For the smart features: are you just looking for notifications or do you need more? Things like NFC payments, offline music, and the ability to reply to messages or make calls on the watch? Also, how about calendar access offline?
For health tracking: what metrics are you most interested in?
Fitness-wise: what types of activities do you want to track? Do you have any specific metrics in mind for things like golf, diving, or running?

For smart features, I definitely want notifications and NFC payments would be a big plus. Music control would be nice but isn’t a must since most earbuds have controls built in. I don’t need calls or messages unless there’s a good voice-to-text option on the watch.
For health tracking, heart rate is my main concern, and sleep tracking is a must.
In terms of fitness, I just need something to track my steps, and I do some running, so GPS to track my routes would be great. I’m not sure if I need any specific metrics for strength training.

I was considering the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 initially, but I’ve read mixed reviews about the accuracy of the heart rate and GPS tracking.
The Pixel 3 could be a better fit for you since the Fitbit app is excellent for sleep tracking. The Pixel 3 also has solid running features and Google Wallet for NFC payments, which works well in many countries.
If you’re looking to save some money and can use the Curve card (popular in Europe), the Amazfit Balance might work, but the heart rate tracking could be similar to the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Another option is the Garmin Venu 3, which has Garmin Pay available in many places. If it’s not available, there are usually digital alternatives like Curve or Revolut. It offers great sleep tracking too, and the battery life is impressive, lasting up to 14 days with AOD off—unlike the daily charge for the Pixel.
