Looking for a Smartwatch under $100... Just need basic features, any recommendations?

I am new to smartwatches and don’t need a lot of sports features.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

  • A size that’s not too bulky. I’d prefer something similar to the Apple Watch.
  • Vibration alerts for alarms.
  • A microphone for calls.
  • Not a Huawei watch.
  • Ability to read messages from popular messaging apps.
  • Decent battery life (Would a week be too much to ask?)

I have a Galaxy S23, does that make a difference?

Can I get all of this for under $100?

I’ve got the Huawei Watch Fit 3. Not the brand you want, but it has what you’re looking for. I love mine.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I have it too, and I love it as well.

I’m curious about this too! Would love to know the options.

Maybe the H06 would work for you? It’s cheap and thin. I’ve got some reviews for that and others here.

One thing with these cheaper ones is the software is often not great, which can mess with health tracking accuracy. But since you don’t need that, you can get a decent watch in the $20-40 range. Just make sure to read reviews before buying! The same watch can sometimes be sold under different names, so be careful with pricing—it can vary a lot.

@Madden
Or you could check out the H23.

I’ve seen several H23 models, but they’re all pretty thick.

I got a used Watch 4 with LTE for only 30 euros :man_health_worker:

Samsung? Doesn’t the battery only last a day or so?

There are ways to extend the battery, but yes, it’s not the longest-lasting. I have a Garmin Forerunner that lasts 2 weeks, and I thought battery life would be a dealbreaker. But I’ve found a good time in my routine to charge it every other day. With minimal use, I get about 2 days out of the Watch 4.

You can find older Samsung Galaxy Watches for under $100. They have a pretty traditional look.

I’ve heard the battery only lasts around 1 day though.

I typically get about 2.5 days. It charges quickly, so I just plug it in while I drink my morning coffee.

I’ve got a Galaxy Watch 3 for my iPhone and I absolutely love it. It lasts almost a full week for me, and I mainly use it for the time, date, weather, and reading texts while I’m at work. It looks better than the Apple Watch, too. I don’t like square watches, so this one fits my style. I paired it with a black metal band, and it looks like it’s from 2024.

If you’re willing to spend an extra $15, the Redmi Watch 4 has all the features you want.

Under $100? The only options I can think of are:

  • Amazfit Bip 5
  • Amazfit Active (if you can find it on sale under $100)
