Looking for a Smartwatch for My Grandma... Any Suggestions?

Hi everyone, I’m planning to get a smartwatch as a Christmas gift for my grandma. The goal is to help her keep track of her health stats and make sure she doesn’t miss our calls, as she sometimes doesn’t hear her phone ring.

Can anyone recommend an affordable Android smartwatch with these features?

Thanks so much!

This is a tough one, even without factoring in the “affordable” part…

Many older people have trouble with their vision, and even though there are watches with visible dials (either analog or digital), the font size used in the menus is usually about 1½-2mm high. That can be really challenging for a lot of elderly people to read.

Thanks for the advice! My grandma has pretty good sight, so that’s not too much of an issue. The bigger problem is that she sometimes accidentally puts her phone on silent without noticing and then misses our calls. At her age, it’s a little concerning when she doesn’t answer.

I’d suggest looking at the Amazfit smartwatches. They won’t have super precise health metrics, but they can give a decent estimate. Keep in mind, smartwatches use generalized algorithms, and once you’re over 60, these algorithms can get a bit less accurate. The key is to focus on consistency and tracking trends over time, rather than expecting perfectly accurate readings.

Thanks a lot, I didn’t know that! I’ll keep it in mind when choosing the watch.
