I am looking for a smartwatch that is waterproof IP68 or IP69, has the ability to insert the sim and has a good battery (minimum 3 days without charging it)

I am looking for something that can allow me to make emergency calls even if I do not have my phone with me and that allows me to go swimming in the pool and take a shower wearing it.

thank you very much!

Generally speaking, the simpler/dumber the smartwatch, the better the stamina of the same size battery.

I use a $30 7mm thin ø43mm T8, that ticks all the boxes (afaik). So should not be hard to find others that does also. Though the T8 is IP67 only, and I would recommend you to go for at the least IP68 for swimming.

For any ‘waterproof’ be careful with soap water that gets through any crack MUCH easier - as it is the purpose of soap to reduce the surface tension to be able to get under dirt.

ADD: Note though that for functionality beyond the ticked, aPple lock down some for Iwatches only.

virtually every smartwatch out there with the exception of most wear os watches (as they tend to be locked to android phones - like apple lock apple watches to iPHone).

Personally would suggest restricting your search to amazfit, huawei, fitbit and the fitness brands: garmin, coros, polar and suunto. Reason is due to their connectivity apps which tend to be a lot more reliable than what the load of knock off watches offer - don’t get me wrong some are ok - but much more hit and miss.

If you’re willing to give up the processing power and full color display of a full smartwatch like with some of Fossil’s hybrid models, you might get months or even a year out of one battery. (I think even their e-ink HR models are good for a couple of weeks on a charge.) It really depends on what you need — more features, more battery usage.

I have some Casio watches that claim two-year batteries, but they’re extremely limited on smartwatch features — a G-Shock with a step counter, an Edifice with a reminder function, and a different Edifice (solar-charging) with a speedometer thingy that’s basically a digital version of the tachymeter. They all have stopwatch logging and Bluetooth connectivity, and the Edifices have on-board world timer functionality (the G-Shock fakes it with the phone app).

I also have a Fossil WearOS watch. I rarely use it, but it has all of the regular smartwatch features along with an AMOLED display. The battery runs down very quickly, which is honestly to be expected.

Clearly a full smartwatch is not of much use to me. I may as well stick with my Bluetooth Casios.

I had an Amazfit BIP and now the upgraded BIP-S.

they both run 30–40 days for me if I don’t use the GPS receiver in the watch.

If you carry your phone while doing what’re you’re doing - walking etc - the activity records using the phones GPS.

if you run around the soccer field with your phone in a locker, and trace your step with watch gps, it’s more like 4 hours. Yes, four hours

Xiaomi Amazfit BIP’s battery can last almost for 40 days with moderately displaying information. With this face mine one’s last for 30 days.

The only cellular/LTE Wear OS watch currently offered in the marketplace is the Ticwatch Pro 4G LTE and in the EU now the TWP 3 LTE. They both use esim. Any other offerings will be dated.

Full Android Watches use removable sims and the latest offerings are running Android 10. As mentioned, these watches do have their own issues (not insurmountable) and have come a long way in a very short amount of time. Names to search: Kospet Prime 2, Lemfo Lem12 Pro, or Zeblaze Thor 6. There are comparison reviews on YouTube and website that supports these other watches.

Hope that helps…

The Huawei Watch 2 (EU version). I am guessing it’s so old you can only get it second hand.

Well I’ve had my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic for almost two years now, and I’ve been wearing it in the shower almost everyday. Even went to the pool with it multiple times (rinsed it properly afterwards though, pool water isn’t exactly “clean” water). It’s still like new.

I’ve watch 4. Took it literally to the falls. Although I don’t know how to swim.I went with it to the sheer pressure of the falls. I did this two times and the watch is fine and all.

Same here. Been through 2 smart watches, considering a garmin watch which is better rated for water use
