Galaxy Watch Ultra vs Apple Watch Ultra 2

Long story short, have been in apple ecosystem since 3+ years and was deep in it (Mac, ipad, airpods, watch, phone), but obviously having come from Windows/Android, Mac didnt it cut it out for me. Slowly let go of Mac ipad forWindows Android alternative and bought a Fold 4 as well, as a secondary phone

Now to question, 3+ years back Galaxy watch used to be horrible with accuracy and Tizen OS/UI

Been thinking to come back fully to Android with S24 U , Galaxy watch Ultra and Buds pro 2

Iphone is lets just say too dull and boring for me but the watch is major deciding factor for me, coz i workout daily n stuff

Has the accuracy improved vs Apple Watch ultra 2, has the UI become smoother, is app support better in Wear OS vs what it was in Tizen back then?

personally like the apple ultra design a bit more but willing to compromise on that to move back to Android.

I’ve never used an Apple Watch so I can’t comment on which is more accurate.

However, I have been using Samsung watches since Tizen, and I can confidently say that the watches have been rock solid since the switch to wearOS. I currently switch between the Watch5 Pro and the Watch7 and have had no issues in regards to tracking my workouts, performance on both my watches are great, and the UI is easy to navigate.

I’m curious how many others have heart rate tracking issues.

During workouts (running mainly) it’s within 1-2% of my Garmin (for both HR and GPS which is miles beyond my GW5Pro)! I’m satisfied there.

But while working at the computer, sleeping or relaxing, my resting HR is almost always 10-15 BPM higher on my GWU than my Garmin. Also consistent when comparing with my girlfriends Apple Watch side by side.

I feel like it’s more than likely a software issue they can resolve considering the HR tracking is a lot sharper during workouts with all the bouncing around versus while sitting still.

I stopped watching when he said you need a Samsung phone to use the Samsung watch.

You need an Android phone, not necessarily a Samsung which offers a lot more flexibility if you’re not an Apple fanboy.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra costs $150 less than the Apple Watch Ultra 2. It sets a strong pace with health tracking capabilities and its rugged durability making it a good adventure companion as long as you don’t take it too deep underwater…

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is one of the most durable smartwatches available, but you pay a premium for its toughened chassis. It’s better suited to diving and water sports than the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

My ultra hr is almost exact with my Garmin 965 on runs. It’s a little lower on my weight lifting activities.

Distance is a 0.05 miles longer on almost a 10 mile run. Pretty close on pace and distance

Treadmill running needs to be calibrated to each treadmill. My Garmin was calibrated to one, and you run on another and it will be different (compared to the console, especially if the belt is not at the same tension - it won’t match what the console is saying)

If you’re using it for workouts and stuff like that the apple watch is still miles better. Especially with the samsung watch ultra being squared when in my opinion the round watch face is so much better so changing the ultra to be a square was so bad in my opinion. I love my galaxy watch 7 because of the round design

Damn

Imagine being stuck in apple ecosystem coz of just the watch

Apart from design, would say accuracy is also poor in GW Ultra ?
