What’s the best digital watch for steps and sleep tracking

Hey everyone…

I’m searching for a digital-style watch that can track steps, sleep, and heart rate. I prefer the look of old-school digital displays like the classic Casio, but I also want the fitness tracking features of modern smartwatches. Does anyone know of a watch that fits this description? I’ve come across the Garmin Instinct Solar 2, but I’m not sure if it counts as a true digital watch or if it has a touchscreen or fancy display like AMOLED. Any recommendations?

The Casios with Polar tech might work, but their software is not great. Garmin’s Instinct series is probably your best bet. These watches have screens that look like the old digital ones, especially the Instinct 2 series. The Instinct 3 just came out and offers some cool features like better GPS, NFC pay, and great battery life. It’s definitely worth considering.

Thanks for the info! I’d love to get a Garmin someday, but it’s a bit pricey for me right now. I found a watch called Amazfit Neo—it’s affordable and looks like the old Casios, but I’m worried about its lack of updates. Too bad they never made a Neo 2.

@Wes
The Neo is super basic, not even close to a proper fitness tracker. It’s made by Huami, who also produce Xiaomi’s watches. Unfortunately, their updates don’t fix deeper sensor issues. It’s cool for its retro look, but the tracking is not accurate, and the battery life depends on how you use it. You’d be better off saving for something more reliable.

@Asher
You’re right… I’d rather wait for something better with a similar style but better features. Thanks for the heads-up!

I just picked up a Redmi Watch 5 Lite from a second-hand shop for under 40 bucks. It’s brand new for around 50. It has app support and does a good job overall. You might want to check it out.

I was considering the T-Rex 3, but people say its always-on display isn’t great. I’ll check out the Redmi… thanks!
