I’ve been using my Fenix 7 for a year now mainly for its detailed workout tracking, like exercise load, training focus, and VO2 max. Lately, I’ve been thinking about switching to the OnePlus Watch 2, but I’m worried I’ll lose all that in-depth fitness data.
Has anyone here made the switch? If so, what made you switch, and how does the OnePlus Watch 2 do with fitness tracking? Does it compare to the Fenix 7?
For context, I focus on weightlifting, HIIT, stair master, running, martial arts, and eBiking. I want to know if the OnePlus Watch 2 gives solid insights for these activities or if I’d lose too much.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
By the way, my post keeps getting deleted. Any idea why?
I’ve had posts with links get deleted. The automatic moderation seems easier on links in replies, but even then, they might still disappear. I haven’t used the OnePlus Watch 2 myself, but I’d guess you’d lose some quality in data by switching. Have you checked out reviews from places like DC Rainmaker or The Quantified Scientist? They often give great breakdowns.
Also, I saw that your deleted posts are in the OnePlus forum. Not sure of their rules, but maybe they prefer only OnePlus-related posts. This forum might be better for comparing different brands.
I’m not a fan of his reviews. He’s pretty biased, but sadly, he’s the main reviewer out there. If you check his data, you’ll see he doesn’t have a lot of data points. Try to ignore his long rants. The heart rate tracking during activity seems okay, but overall, it’s not nearly as good as the Fenix/Epix watches. A big issue with his review is that he uses the 51mm X model, but he’s got tiny wrists—he should be using the S version or the 47mm. That’s why some watches, like the V3, do better. He made a rookie mistake that I feel he should’ve known better about. Also, it works well for racket sports, but swimming tracking has serious issues.
I was considering the OnePlus Watch 2 for a bit, but it didn’t fit my needs.
It’s definitely towards the Apple Watch right now. He’s been using it for about 2 years. Don’t get me wrong, Apple Watches are good, but some of his opinions just aren’t backed by the data.
I’ve tried a Mobvoi Ticwatch, which competes with the OnePlus Watch. The workout data is decent, but it’s nowhere near the level of the Fenix. If you’re serious about health and fitness tracking, Garmin is the way to go. As others have mentioned, Coros watches are also solid choices.
