My dad works in roofing and is looking for a smartwatch that he can wear every day and also during work. I want to get him one for Christmas, but I can’t decide which one is best. I’ve been looking at the Amazon Trex3 and Garmin Instinct 2. Which one would be better or is there another one that might be a better fit?

Just a heads up, it’s Amazfit, not Amazon — two different companies. If there’s any chance he will be using mobile payments with the watch, you’ll need to make sure the watch supports that. In general, both watches you mentioned are pretty solid, so I don’t think you’ll go wrong with either. I have the Samsung Watch 6.

In that case, I’d say go for the T-Rex 3. It has a mic and speaker, and it doesn’t sound like you’re too focused on health and fitness metrics. This way, he can take calls on the watch if needed.
