Huawei GT 5 or Amazfit Balance… what do you think?

I’m looking for a new watch to replace my Huawei Fit 2. I’m stuck between the Huawei GT 5 and the Amazfit Balance, but I’m also thinking about the Galaxy Watch 7. Any advice on which one to pick?

There’s no such thing as the perfect smartwatch for everyone. It all depends on what you’re looking for.

Which one works best for what you need?

The Balance has a longer battery life, NFC payment, and smoother navigation.

The GT 5 feels sturdier, offers better heart rate tracking, and supports more fitness activities. It also has continuous heart rate monitoring like the Apple Watch, whereas the Balance checks every 1 or 10 minutes, which might affect health data accuracy.

You might also want to check out the Garmin Vivoactive 5 or Forerunner 165. They’re in a similar price range. They’re great for health tracking and fitness, with solid smart features like NFC payments and offline music. The design is lighter but still durable. They have continuous heart rate tracking and excellent GPS performance, though the UI might feel less smooth because it’s designed for buttons too.

As for the Galaxy Watch 7, its heart rate tracking is on par with the Balance. The health metrics rely on Samsung apps, so you’d need a Samsung phone or some workarounds for Android. It’s locked to Android, and if you’re using an iPhone, the compatibility is messy. Fitness tracking is decent but not as good as Garmin, and the battery only lasts 2 days compared to at least a week with the others. On the bright side, it has Wear OS, so it’s great for smart features.
