I’ve used Apple Watches before but currently have a Garmin. I’m considering switching back to Apple, but I’m stuck. I’ve read that Apple works better as a smart device linked to your phone, while Garmin is better for fitness and running. My main focus is health tracking—things like pulse ox, sleep, and more. Does anyone here have insights on which is better for health features?
If health tracking is your priority, I’d recommend sticking with Garmin. I ended up choosing an Apple Watch after going back and forth, and honestly, I’m a bit let down by its health tracking—especially since it lacks proper blood oxygen monitoring. I’m actually thinking of getting a smart ring to fill the gap because Apple doesn’t provide enough health data for me.

Same here… I’ve been considering the Apple Watch and ring combo too.
- Garmin: These watches are better for fitness tracking. They’re designed specifically for exercise and wellness, and they’re popular among fitness enthusiasts. Garmin is usually more accurate and provides a wider range of metrics and tools. Plus, the battery life is much better compared to Apple. If you’re serious about fitness, Garmin is the way to go.
- Apple Watch: It’s great for everyday life and syncs easily with your iPhone. Perfect for those who want a smartwatch to track workouts, stay motivated, and handle daily tasks like notifications and apps. It’s a better choice if you’re looking for a more well-rounded device.
Honestly, there’s no clear ‘best’ option—it depends on what you need. For health, both can work, but the Apple Watch might integrate better if you’re already using an iPhone.
@Vale
This is spot on. I used to have an Apple Watch but switched to Garmin a few months ago. Apple Watches are much easier to use for daily life and connecting with apps. Garmin has more fitness features, but I just need basic stuff like step tracking and runs. Garmin has so many extra features and settings that it gets overwhelming. Even after months, it’s still not user-friendly, and needing two apps to manage everything is confusing. That said, Garmin’s battery life is amazing. I like tracking my sleep, which was hard with Apple since it needed charging so often. Overall, I prefer Apple for simplicity, but Garmin is better if you’re willing to learn all the extra features.
